Day 9 dawned as hot as ever. It was to be another day on the beach starting at 08H30 for us. We were just in time to see Heather and her team mate, Shelley, heading out in the double ski race in which they eventually finished in fifth place.
It was a very hot day and we got very burnt even though we had a lot of sunscreen on. Some of our Fish Hoek competitors got stung by blue bottles and Heather was giving them antihistamines out of her kit which she carries around after she got an allergic reaction when she was badly stung a while back.
In the afternoon Heather’s team came in third for the ski relay race. Well done girls.
By the time we got back to the flat it was to a much needed shower and a quick meal before bed.
